Some beachgoers prefer to leave everything outdoors and if you are looking for a naturist beach in the Algarve, then head to the island of Tavira.

The beach on the island of Tavira is known for being one of the five official naturist beaches in Portugal and although it is acceptable to go to the beach with clothes on, don't be surprised to see many people without yours!

To reach the island you need to take a ferry from the small port outside Tavira, once on the island if you want to be naked, then the best place is a 15 minute walk from the port on the sea side of the island.

The beach is very beautiful and home to some bars and restaurants and also a large campsite for those who want to stay on the island.

In addition to being a beach for naturists, the beach is also home to many chameleons and other wildlife, making this a place for everyone!

 

How to get there?
Ferry or taxi-boat. The best place to catch the ferry is at Cais das Quatro Águas. To get there, take the Estrada das 4 Águas.

At the end of Tavira Island is the Naturist Beach. This nudist beach has a magnificent view over the other islands of the Ria Formosa. The Praia Naturista de Tavira is one of the five official naturist beaches in Portugal.

Ferry to the island and then you have to walk to the beach. As mentioned above, to get to Tavira Island it is best to take the ferry at Cais das Quatro Águas. To get there, take the Estrada das 4 Águas.
