Azenhas do Mar Beach
A village on the coast of the municipality of Sintra, parish of Colares
A real illustrated postcard, Azenhas do Mar surprises by its geographical location, with the houses cascading down the cliff slope to the sea, bathed in an idealizing and white light.
It is one of the most popular beaches for bathers, with an oceanic pool that delights visitors.
The sand does not exceed 30 meters, but at high tides it can disappear completely.
Former fishing village, in recent decades it has become a peaceful summer place and a place of inspiration for many painters like Júlio Pomar, Emílio da Paula Campos or Milly Podez.
